Editorial Standards
Every review on this site follows the same process. Here's how we approach things — and what we explicitly don't do.
What goes into a review
For each buying guide:
- Five products are selected based on Amazon's ranked search results — not curated to favor commission rates
- Product data (title, brand, specifications, features, customer ratings, review themes) is pulled directly from Amazon's listings
- Each product is positioned by what it actually does well in a real kitchen — Best Overall, Best Budget, Best for Beginners, etc.
- Verdicts and analysis synthesize real customer feedback themes with practical kitchen experience
- Every product gets a balanced section — strengths, limitations, who it's right for, who should skip
What we don't do
- No fake testimonials. We don't invent customer quotes attributed to "Sarah" or "John."
- No claims of personal testing. We don't fabricate "I tested this for 6 weeks" narratives. Where chef experience informs writing, that's a perspective the editor brings — not a hands-on test we didn't do.
- No prices. Prices change daily on Amazon. Showing them would mislead. Live pricing is always at Amazon.
- No specs we can't verify. If a feature isn't in the product listing, it doesn't go in the review.
- No commission-driven rankings. Higher-commission categories don't get top placements.
Updates and corrections
Reviews carry an "Updated" date. When a category shifts significantly (new model launches, withdrawn products, recall situations), we update the review and reset the date.
