Editorial Standards

Every review on this site follows the same process. Here's how we approach things — and what we explicitly don't do.

What goes into a review

For each buying guide:

• Five products are shortlisted from the most popular options in the category — not curated to favor commission rates
• Each product is positioned by what it does well — Best Overall, Best Budget, Best for Beginners, etc.
• Verdicts and analysis reflect our editorial judgment
• Every product gets a balanced section — strengths, limitations, who it's right for, who should skip

What we don't do

• No fake testimonials. We don't invent customer quotes attributed to "Sarah" or "John."
• No fabricated stories. We don't invent "I tested this for 6 weeks" narratives.
• No product prices. Prices change daily on Amazon, so we never show a price for a product we review. Live pricing is always at Amazon.
• No specs we can't verify. If we can't confirm a feature, it doesn't go in the review.
• No commission-driven rankings. Higher-commission categories don't get top placements.

Updates and corrections

Reviews carry an "Updated" date. When a category shifts significantly (new model launches, withdrawn products, recall situations), we update the review and reset the date.
